چکیده

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to describe an effective method to eliminate or substantially reduce the modulation harmonics due to saturation and inter-modulation for sensorless speed control induction motor drives at low and zero speed with high loads using artificial neural networks (ANN). Design/methodology/approach – In this paper, the separation of the saturation signal, the slotting signal, and the inter-modulation signal components in squirrel cage induction machines operating at low and zero frequency using ANN has been experimentally implemented and measurement results are given. Findings – The measurement results show the advantages of the application of the proposed technique at low and zero speed sensorless control even at high load levels. Originality/value – The paper describes an effective method of eliminating or reducing modulation harmonics in induction motor drives.

A Current-Based Output Feedback Sliding Mode Control for Speed Sensorless Induction Machine Drive Using Adaptive Sliding Mode Flux Observer

This paper presents a new adaptive Sliding-Mode flux observer for speed sensorless and rotor flux control of three-phase induction motor (IM) drives. The motor drive is supplied by a three-level space vector modulation (SVM) inverter. Considering the three-phase IM Equations in a stator stationary two axis reference frame, using the partial feedback linearization control and Sliding-Mode (SM) c...

A Novel MRAS Based Estimator for Speed-Sensorless Induction Motor Drive

In this paper, a novel stator current based Model Reference Adaptive System (MRAS) estimator for speed estimation in the speed-sensorless vector controlled induction motor drives is presented. In the proposed MRAS estimator, measured stator current of the induction motor is considered as a reference model. The estimated stator current is produced in an adjustable model to compare with the measu...

Politecnico Di Torino Porto Institutional Repository [proceeding] Hybrid Sensorless Control of Axial Flux Permanent Magnet Motor Drives, including Zero Speed Hybrid Sensorless Control of Axial Flux Permanent Magnet Motor Drives, including Zero Speed

The sensorless control of an axial flux permanent magnet motor drive is proposed and tested. The motor is not purposely designed for sensorless control and shows a very small inherent saliency. This significantly affects the saliency-based position estimation in the low speed region. Other nonidealities, such as the non-sinusoidal back-EMF waveforms and possible misalignment between stator and ...

IS-MRAS With On-Line Adaptation Parameters Based on Type-2 Fuzzy LOGIC for Sensorless Control of IM

This paper suggests novel sensorless speed estimation for an induction motor (IM) based on a stator current model reference adaptive system (IS-MRAS) scheme. The IS-MRAS scheme uses the error between the reference and estimated stator current vectors and the rotor speed. Observing rotor flux and the speed estimating using the conventional MRAS technique is confronted with certain problems relat...

Accurate Rotor Position Detection and Sensorless Control of SRM for Super-High Speed Operation

Based on the general nonlinear magnetizing model (GNMM) from our previous research work, an improved method of detecting rotor position for sensorless control of SRMs in super-high speed operation has been developed. With minimum input data, the approximated GNMM is obtained and the rotor speed estimated. Then the rotor position is detected by the motion equation. To remove rotor position error...
